Really Wild Food And Countryside Festival, St Davids, Pembrokeshire, West Wales.I’m always amazed at how Really Wild Julia always manages to keep up with all her emails for the Really Wild Festival at the same time as keeping watch over her beloved flock of Jacob sheep. Well, now I know!

The Really Wild Food & Countryside Festival Dining Club

‘Wild Tastings’ at Morgan’s, St David’s, Thursday 26 March

Welcome Aperitif
Nettle Beer
Made with young nettle tops picked from Quickwell Hill, St David’s

The common stinging nettle grows practically everywhere, all year round, though it is best picked in the spring for the young shoots. It makes great soup, beer and wine, and can be treated like spinach and used in risottos, gnocchi and stuffing.

Really Wild Food And Countryside Festival, St Davids, Pembrokeshire, West Wales.Morgan's Restaurant in St Davids, where we had the Really Wild Dining Club launch a couple of months ago, had some good airtime on BBC Radio Wales on Tuesday.

Really Wild Food And Countryside Festival, St Davids, Pembrokeshire, West Wales.I know we are all supposed to have five portions of fruit and veg per day, but right now I seem to be having five portions of just strawberries per day.

We at Walka-Longway have been involved with the festival for 3 years, through both exibiting and being part of the committee. It has been great fun, meet some great people and we can only congratulate Brian and Julia for thier work and enthusiasm.
The show is an excellent example of all things that you would find on the wild side of out country.
Walka-Longway has had some excellent responces from being at the show and hope it goes from strength to strength.

Come on folks, if you went let's have some reviews! I suspect that the Q&A session with the kitchen team could easily become a Dining Club 'tradition' :)

Scott and the kitchen team really pushed the boat out to make the menu for the recent Dining Club night a great success. And with a big crowd of hungry diners to attend to, 'very well done' to all the staff too - we ran them ragged!

They say that we shouldn’t put anything on our skin that we wouldn’t be happy to eat. Although I don’t suppose there are many (if any) of us that follow that, you could do worse than try these very quick beauty suggestions from the wild!

Beach combing, walking, BBQ and songs

The dot in the water off the second promontory is me, photographed by my father during a recent fishing trip. My first holiday in 4 or 5 years: a couple of days fishing in Snowdonia, hosted by the wonderful ‘Tynycornel Hotel’ on Tal Y Llyn lake.
