Morgan's Restaurant in St Davids, where we had the Really Wild Dining Club launch a couple of months ago, had some good airtime on BBC Radio Wales on Tuesday. The programme was about the fishing industry in Pembrokeshire, starting at Milford Haven with fishermen and working its way through the chain (fishmongers etc) to the restaurant end where David spoke about the expectations of visitors as to where they expect their fish to be sourced from, and the diminishing access to very locally caught fish.
I caught the programme by accident as I was coming to the end of a gruelling 5000 meters rowing session (only in our barn!) Pity, I like Pembrokeshire food so much and even more's the pity that it hangs around on my body as if by some magnetic force!
Still, the rowing makes up somewhat for the increasingly sedentary time I seem to find myself spending sitting in front of this screen!!

It was good that the BBC chose Pembrokeshire for their story on the fishing industry. It was also reassuring that both the producer and presenter were well briefed on the isuues for both producer and consumer. This week is now Pembrokeshire Fish Week, which celebrates its 10th Anniversary this year, so now is a great time to get out and enjoy some great fish and fishy goings on. Fish is high in nutrients and low in calories, until you add the batter, mushy peas, and chips (plus some salt for the blood pressure!) Have you tried Bowen's fish & chips in St Dogmaels? Stunningly good and lovely people, plus you can sit by the river and enjoy the view as you eat.
