Really Wild Food And Countryside Festival, St Davids, Pembrokeshire, West Wales. Chefs.Dudley Newbury, who will be giving three demonstrations on Saturday, is well known as S4C’s presenter of the Welsh language cookery show Casa Dudley. He has written numerous cookery books about Wales and will be making the most of local ingredients in his recipes on that day.

 

 

 

 

 

In contrast, Tom Bean a local gastronomer, who had a wild food display and led walks at the festival last year, is joining us again but in the kitchen. With his partner, Lara Bernays, he will be using wild food that they have foraged to illustrate how to produce ‘Wild Suppers’.

Chefs.On Sunday, Peter Vaughan returns to join us for the 4th time and will be looking for some youngsters from the audience to help him with his two demonstrations. Peter, who is an author and TV Chef, will also be the Compere for the final of Pembrokeshire Tourism Awards - Best Local Chef which will be taking place on Sunday. The three short-listed chefs in this new competition will be cooking a two course meal showing how they source their ingredients as close to their restaurants as possible. They will have to include some ingredients from the wild which the judges will take into consideration plus presentation, cost, flavour, resourcefulness and creativity.

 

 

 

The names of the finalists will be displayed on this website after they are announced at the Pembrokeshire County Show on 19th August.
