Wild Walks

The popular walks were oversubscribed as usual, with some keen walkers working out their time to fit in two per day.

Andrew Tuddenham led two walks onto the National Trust’s Waun Fawr Common and explained how previous generations made use of this area. A Site of Special Scientific Interest, it is now one of Europe’s most endangered habitats.

Ian Meopham, from the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, took a group along Whitesands beach, and around St. Davids Head looking at the  coastline and shoreline food, and environmental and coastal issues.

Colin Porter runs Walka-Longway, a walking business which offers walkers of all abilities the opportunity to explore the real landscape of Pembrokeshire. He took a group along the hedgerows and byeways looking at the flora and fauna and exploring the uses of materials from the wild for food and craft.
