Coppicewood College, based at Cilgerran, provides accredited training and  educational  programmes in woodland based traditional rural skills and related crafts. It also educates its members and volunteers in developing their own skills, such as green woodworking, coppice practice and hedgelaying. The college teaches the use of hand tools such as axes, bow saws, draw knifes and billhooks and wood is turned on a pole lathe. Students  also learn to make various work benches and working set ups.

Ferret Racing with Bolton Ferret Welfare. Ferrets are not wild animals but are domesticated descendants of the wild polecat and members of the same family as the stoat, weasel, otter and badger. A working ferret is one that is used for flushing wild rabbits out of their burrows, a humane and environmentally acceptable means of pest control. Racing is used to raise funds for clubs and ferret welfare. They are naturally curious and will find their way along the racing tubes without any persuasion from their owners. Members of the public can handle the ferrets, which are very popular with children.

Pygmy Goats and Boer Goats
Tim Caddey has been Pembrokeshire's top breeder of pedigree pygmy goats for many years now. These active little goats which the public love to watch originate from a combination of several breeds of African goats. Tim’s Pygmy Goats, are bred for top show and pet quality, they have a great disposition, are wonderful with children, and come in an assortment of colours!
He will be accompanied by Ella Hammel, originally from Germany and who now lives in Carmarthen. She breeds Boer goats which will also be on display at the festival.

Sarah Beynon’s Beetles. Sarah is an entomologist from St. Davids, and a recent guest on Iolo Williams’ latest TV series. She will showcase live beetles and let you know the secrets of encouraging these useful insects to your garden. She will also have some tasty insect snacks to try!

Helen Campbell will be back again this year and with Cassandra Lishman will be offering the opportunity to try weaving with willow.  Visitors can help them to complete a life-size willow surfer on his surfboard. There will also be workshops for children.

Fruitnvegetorium is the first and only mobile museum devoted to the celebration of fruit and veg. It is curated by the brilliantly entertaining Beetie Brassica and Pomona O’Calabrese.

Meurig Rees from BASC Wales and Pembrokeshire Wildfowlers Club will give a Gun Dog display and demonstrate the art of decoying ducks, geese and pigeons, and Alex Hill of Pembrokeshire Falconry will walk around with his birds of prey giving the public the opportunity to see them close to.

Mike Smylie, a recipient of the BBC Radio 4 Food and Farming Food Campaigner/Educator Award, will be at the festival with his exhibition Kipperland, extolling the wonders of herrings and kippers and carrying out demonstrations.

Testimonial

"your organisation was the best we had seen at a show and we were really impressed with the "green" issues, i.e. recycling bins. Isn't it a shame that more shows don't follow your example" - Mike
